Dan Sullivan left the corporate world to begin making Bumpa’s come to life. For Dan, seeing this bar become a reality is the fulfillment of years of hard work and plenty of dreams. He loves talking about Bumpa’s the bar, Bumpa the man, and can’t wait to pour you a beer. Conor Sullivan, a corporate sales veteran of ten years, walked away from the transient life of a salesman to plant roots and to live his dream of starting something of his own. He is bringing his business acumen to bear in making Bumpa’s brand successful.
Only had drinks here so can't comment on the rest. Nice lovely place. Love the brick walls and wooden beams in the ceiling. Lots of local beers on tap. Husband had the Queen's Cup cocktail. PERFECT on a hot day. It's like a slushie. It's sweet, it's yummy, and it cools you down from walking in the sun all day. If you are visiting in the summer, Queen's Cup is a must.
Let me start off by saying what great service we got while we were on family vacation. We came in as a family of 9. And with the limited place we go as a family this place right here made our experience much more enjoyable. Absolutely amazing food. Great staff. If we ever go back to Charleston this place is number 1 on the list. Thank you guys for making our visit /experience wonderful.
We are so glad we had lunch at Bumpa's! Everyone must try the Scottish Egg, it is one of the absolutely best things we've eaten. The local beers on tap were fun to try and the French Fries with funky toppings were awesome. Enjoyed a conversation with one of the owners and learned more about the details and history of the place. Looking forward to getting some Bumpa's merchandise when it is ready!
I can't stop thinking about Bumpas! Everything was fantastic. Meeting the owner is always a plus and Dan was just the nicest. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and even the bar was no ordinary bar. Ask for it and they have it. I cannot wait to go back! If you are looking for comfort food, this is the place.
Happened into this place after reviewing several lunch options in downtown Charleston on Yelp. Well worth it. Would come back. The Bacon cheeseburger was great. The fries were amazing (perfectly crispy and seasoned) and we didn't even opt for any of the additional toppings. May have to try the hot dogs next time they looked good too.
